Pisara, 'drop' in Finnish, is a Vessel striking by its simplicity and exclusive palette of pastel and vivid colours.
The heavy drop shaped glass is perfect to use as a vase, as the smoked wooden acacia container can be removed and used to hold treats and utensils.
Designed and prototyped in 2018.

The materials come to our warehouse in Germany where they are fitted and assembled.
Acacia Wood
Acacia
Acacia wood is a beautiful timber with a thick bark.
We work with a wood turner in Germany who locally sources his trunks and dries them slowly with the bark preserved.
Processing
The acacia wood is turned on a lathe into the desired shape and measurements. Once the shape is ready the timber is fumed.
Fuming
Using a sealed container to keep the ammonia fumes trapped, the timber is fumed. The tannins in the wood react by turning black whist the sap wood under the bark retains its light colour.
