Drift
handblown glass, Czechia / raku ceramic, Germany / hand turned wood, Finland
Each piece in the Drift Vessels collection explores the quiet tension between form and function, permanence and fluidity. Crafted from hand-blown glass and sculpted wood, these vessels exist in a space between sculpture and utility.
At first glance, they appear as unified, monolithic forms—organic in shape and evocative of natural erosion or the gentle pull of water. Yet, these works can be carefully unstacked, revealing their dual purpose as functional vessels. The glass, rich with caramel hues and luminous depth, refracts light into fluid shadows, while the wood retains its raw edge, grounding each piece in nature..

IT STARTS IN THE HOTSHOP
Each Drift Vessel begins in the glass hotshop, where the body is freehand-shaped using traditional glassblowing techniques. The two-colored glass is carefully layered while molten, allowing the hues to blend organically and create depth.
SHAPING
The form is shaped entirely by hand, without molds, giving each piece its unique, flowing silhouette. Once cooled, the glass is paired with a hand-carved wooden top, completing the sculpture with a natural, tactile contrast.
